Real Wedding II - Me Me Me!! Again Again...

The Evening Reception

The Coote Suite was decorated unbelieveably by Party Linen, it looked FANTASTIC!!

My centerpieces consisted of mirror plates with swarovski scatter crystal and tea lights surrounding a glass candleholder.

Our 'Cake' picture..we didn't actually have a cake we had a chocolate shop instead since my greatest love will always be chocolate!

Max pinching some Chocolate!

Our first dance, we were trying to entice Max to join us at this point, but to no avail!

Real Wedding II - Me Me Me!! Again...

It has only taken me 2 months to update you with the rest of my pictures!! But anyway here they are...

Our welcome drink was a gorgeous and warming Hot Chocolate and Baileys with shortbread rounds. It was sooooo YUMMY!!

This was my vintage style Photoboard.

To create it I used some old family wedding photographes that had been reprinted on sepia. The photo's were placed around the edge of the photoboard, and held in place with vintage hat pins and some old pieces of jewellery from my nan's collection. Dotted around the photo's were scrapbooking tags with words like... Absence makes the heart grow fonder

When people were looking at the old photos and reminissing about bygone weddings it was a lovely moment.

This was my seating plan designed and handpainted by Pink Lane it looked beautiful and matched my invitations perfectly.

This was the AMASING Baronial Suit at Highgate House, this was where we held our Wedding Breakfast. There was a beautiful bay window at one end and a roaring open fire at the other.

Mr & Mrs Knight sitting down for our yummy dinner.

Real Wedding II - Me Me Me!!

MY WEDDING PICTURES ARE HERE!! They arrived on Saturday and I cannot stop looking at them!! So I thought I would share a selection of them with you, I hope you enjoy...

These are my beautiful invitations from Momental Designs they were perfect and I received so many wonderful comments about them. My favorite part is the quote in the top right hand corner from 'our' song 'Thankyou For Loving Me' Bon Jovi!

My flowers were antique pink 'Old Dutch' roses, I love the withered unperfect look.
The two little page boy's carried a Paddington Bear each which had our wedding rings tied to them.

Our GORGEOUS entourage!

Our Beautiful Boy

What? I didn't want to get cold feet!!

The traditional confetti shot!! I filled a vintage wicker basket with white hydrangea petals for the guest to throw as I wanted the illusion of snow.

We hired our brollies from Hire-a-brolly and they were brilliant, the brollies arrived 3 days before the wedding and were collected by a courier 2 days after the wedding, it couldn't have been simpler!

So thats the day covered!! I will post some pictures from the meal and reception soon!!! x

Wedding Traditions - I - Sixpence For Her Shoe

A Sixpence For Her Shoe...

The sixpence is an English coin first minted in the reign of Edward VI, it has been associated with weddings since the reign of Elizabeth I when in those times the Lord of the Manor where the bride lived would often present a sixpence as a wedding gift.

As time passed the tradition changed and it became the custom for the bride's parent to give the coin as a gift. It was not however until Victorian times that the present day custom evolved to that of giving a sixpence as a lucky charm to bring wealth and happiness to the married couple.

"...when the bride is completely ready to make her way from her home, she would take the sixpence from the bag on her garter and place it in her left shoe. She would walk a full circle and at the same time make a wish for her wealth. She would then take the sixpence out of the shoe and replace it in the bag. She must never look back but continue to walk through the door to marry her husband-to-be ..."

I currently have over 100 sixpences ranging from 1945 - 1967 and I am in the process of designing both a small bag that can be attached to a garter (as per the true tradition) and a foolproof way of attaching the sixpences to the bridal shoe, so WATCH THIS SPACE!!
In the meantime if you want a sixpence from a particular year or you want it presented in a certain way then please do not hesitate to contact me I am sure we can accomodate!!

Without Mystery, Magic Disappears - I

I've not been about lately, so my poor blog has been neglected! But I have been spending a few weeks focusing on my 'Without Mystery, Magic Disappears' range of jewelley, which means I have been out and about sourcing vintage jewellery. I have cleaned up each of my finds and restored and repaired any that needed it and I am now in the process of photographing everything.

I am very excited about it all, so I wanted to share the pictures that I have taken so far of my restored vintage earrings.

A Twinkle and a Sparkle

Wow, it feels like forever since I last ‘blogged’ - my computer has had a horrid virus, it’s been coughing a spluttering all over the place, so I've kept away!! I tell you what though not having a computer doesn’t half free up some time, time which I have used to catch up on my housework. My washing and ironing is up to date, the floors and windows have been washed and I’ve even had dinner on the table for when hubby gets home from work everyday, he thinks it’s Christmas!!

Anyway, I’m very excited because I have just had a parcel delivered and it’s all the bits I ordered last week to get cracking on some new jewellery. I’ve ordered everything to make some earings, necklaces and bracelets; I have also ordered a silver chain for a stunning pendant I found at a flea market. I have cleaned the pendant up and managed to find some matching earings in an antique shop, so I am very excited to make a proper set out of it!! As you can tell with all the exclamation marks I am very excited about it all so WATCH THE SPACE!!

Finally, above is the newest tiara I have added to my collection; it has a lovely 1950’s diamante brooch on the right hand side and the band is covered with diamantes. When it is on you will not believe how much it *twinkles* and *sparkles* it is truly stunning.

One day I will get my hair done up nice and I will model the tiara's so you can see what they look like on!

It's Spring (nearly)

With the anticipation of Spring and having enjoyed a lovely week of sunshine, I donned my flipflops, sat in the garden and got designing....

Forget Me Not

Bespoke tiara with a beautiful Coalport Primrose and Forget Me Not china brooch. The brooch is surrounded with muted yellow pearls taken from a 1950's necklace, swarovski ivory pearls and swarovski ab crystals. Perfect for a Spring time / Easter wedding.

This is probably my favourite tiara so far, it is so bright and cheery, it gets me excited about spring and stirs the senses. It reminds me of freshly mown grass, butterflies and dragonflies, big blooms of bright flowers. Definately in contrast to another of my favourites...

Winter Chic

Bespoke vintage tiara with a lovely 1950's AB crystal brooch. The tiara is encrusted with vintage charcoal pearls taken from a broken vintage necklace, swarovski AB crystals, swarovski clear crystals and swarovski ivory pearls.

My New Job!!

Afternoon All,

I took my son to our local park on Wednesday and I bumped into the lovely owner of the bridal shop that I purchased my wedding dress from last year. We got chatting and she mentioned she could do with a hand in her bridal shop on a weekend and after I finished jumping up and down shouting 'Me Me Me' we seriously talked about it, and...

...I started yesterday!!

I had a fabulous day chatting away to brides helping them into amasing dresses, I even made a sale!! I sold a lovely lady her perfect wedding dress and veil, she looked stunning and we even had a few tears. I can't believe how much I enjoyed it and I got a huge amount of satisfaction from helping a bride find the perfect dress.

The name of the shop is Elyse Bridal and it is on the Wellingborough Road in Northampton. The owner is soooo lovely and if you come in on a Saturday you'll have the pleasure of my help :-)
